OVERVIEW
Polystyrene sheets, commonly known as polystyrenes, hold significant importance among mass plastics due to their cost-effective and straightforward processing methods. Their excellent printability makes white and colored polystyrene a preferred choice for business cards, signage, and displays. Additionally, polystyrene sheets serve as reliable supports for worktables, offering ease of cutting and gluing. Straight or curved cuts can be achieved by scoring with a cutter or scribing knife, followed by breaking. Standard polystyrene can be effectively bonded using solvent adhesives.
The heat resistance of this rigid and firm plastic typically peaks at around 70°C. However, this characteristic offers the benefit of enabling thermal deformation or deep drawing of polystyrene at relatively low temperatures, starting from 130°C. This facilitates an easy processing of the material. When utilized outdoors, a decrease in glossiness and potential yellowing may occur, yet this can be mitigated through painting measures.

Derrick Gibbs –
As a site manager, I frequently handle site signs, so I need materials that are easy to process. Although I hadn’t heard of polystyrene sheets before, the team at tapsplastics introduced me to this material. The result is that we now place orders almost every month!
